Our partnership with children’s publisher Walker Books began in 2011, and focuses support on the work RNIB do around accessible reading.
We’re Going on a Bear Hunt!
2014 saw us further develop our partnership as proud official UK charity partner for the 25th anniversary of the much loved children’s classic by Michael Rosen, “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”.
We jointly held the Biggest Ever Bear Hunt on 16 July 2014 and broke the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ for the Largest Reading Lesson with 1,438 children taking part at our venue in Colchester.
Free book giveaway
This followed on from the 70,000 copies of “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” by Michael Rosen that we jointly gave away in 2013. Using a voucher from The Daily Express newspaper supporters were able to claim their free book at Morrison’s stores nationwide, encouraging them to sign up to in 2014.
Over the years Walker Books have also generously provided us with images from one of the best known children’s book illustrators, Helen Oxenbury, which can be seen on previous fundraising packs, materials and in bus, tube and train stop adverts all over the country!
